Alaska - Yukon Border

The border between Alaska and Yukon isĀ 2,475 km (1,538 mi) long. (As a comparison, the border between the United States and Mexico is 3,140 km (1,951 mi). Most of the border is in the wilderness with no visual indication you are moving from one country to the other. The temporary signs on the Yukon Quest trail gives an indication of how remote most of this border is. There is border crossing services not too far away from this location - but it's closed in the winter. The road (the Top of the World Highway) is not maintained in the winter.
