As promised, here are the videos from Yuka Honda and Deb Knight's presentation at Selkirk school.

The star of the presentation was Petunia - Yuka's 13 year old retired sled dog. She put on a show for the students.

One of the important pieces of equipment every Yukon Quest musher must carry in their sleds is called a cooker. Deb Knight explains how it is used.

Dog care is an important part of the Quest. Mushers spend a lot of time looking after the health of their dogs - especially their feet. They use "booties" to help.

Mushers also carry a first aid kit for dogs. Here, Deb Knight shows how wrist wraps are used.

Here is some of the other equipment mushers carry with them.

Yuka showed the students how to steer the sled. And Deb explained the breaks.

You may have noticed that Deb was really careful putting everything back in the exact same spot in the sled. She explains why.

There were some really good questions for Yuka. Here are some of those questions and Yuka's answers.
