McCabe Creek

Population - Whoever is visiting

McCabe Creek is home to Jari Kruse and his family. It's a working farm. Like many families who live along the Yukon River, the Kruse do what they can to make a living - sometimes delivering goods to miners in the summer; growing their own food; hunting and fishing and trapping.

One of the main buildings in the complex burned to the ground in 2009. But the quest famous moose stew still attracks most mushers every year. (Kathy Kruse does the old way.)
