Scenario 5

Printer-friendly versionPDF version

The story starts the same as Scenario 4, but instead of your leader looking and rushing ahead, your wheel dogs start to turn around and look behind you. Soon all your dogs are straining to get a look at something behind you. You focus your headlamp on the trail behind and on a straight stretch, another team comes into view, going like crazy, with the sled swinging all over the trail behind them. Nobody is driving that team!

  • What do you do?
  • What could have happened to the musher?
  • Can you remember how far behind you the next two mushers were scheduled to leave the last checkpoint? How does that help you?
  • What could the effects be on the dogs that have run out-of-control?
